Hopton-on-Sea, or just, Hopton as locals refer to it as, is a village and seaside resort on the east coast of Norfolk in England, UK. Hopton on Sea is located just 5 miles south of Great Yarmouth and 3 miles North of Lowestoft in Suffolk.

The village of Hopton on Sea is probably best known for being the host of the World Indoor Bowls Championships and for a well catered for tourist industry. Hopton has a regular transport links to Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft and the village has all the amenities a visitor could need as well as several family amusement centres, leisure facilities, restaurants, & pubs. A bit of History About the Town of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk
Up until 1974, Hopton was actually in the county of Suffolk, but for the purposes of local government, the parish of Hopton on Sea falls within the district of Great Yarmouth meaning Hopton is part of the Norfolk Riviera instead of the Suffolk Riviera. Hopton has an area of nearly 6 km² and in the 2001 population census there were 2,706 residents in 1,166 households. Famous former residents include the comedian Joe Pasquale, kid’s TV presenter Dave Benson Phillips and West Ham footballer, Mark Noble.
